Living near Hastings is wearing on me.

I’m suffering mental fatigue from the constant screaming, the accidents, the sirens, the schizophrenia (and other mental illnesses), the drug use, the prostitution, the urine smell, and everything else that comes with living down here.

When I first lived here I had an acute awareness towards this stuff and wanted to do something to change it and make it better, but it wears you down. I used to have pretty thick skin, but the accident I saw two Thursdays ago really changed things. I’m finding that I’ve either become numb from all of this or often times stressed, neither of which are good states to be in.
