LOLLERZ.
Outstanding.
There’s the guy at the party who is making an effort to talk and listen to people, to find things in common with them. And maybe even become friends with them.
Then there’s the guy at the party that stands by himself not talking to anyone and wondering why he hasn’t made any friends.
When I tag posts, it’s so people that browse Tumblr can easily find my posts. And I appreciate when others tag their posts because it allows me to find their stuff too. Almost everyone that I’ve followed on Tumblr was a result of their tagging. It creates a healthy ecosystem for easily finding relevant content with the serendipitous enjoyment you get out discovering someone you share something in common with.
By not tagging your posts you either don’t want to be discovered (which is totally fine) or you are the guy who’s all emo wondering why no one will talk to you at the party but refuses to talk to anyone nonetheless.
In conclusion, if you want Tumblr to be community that you engage with, you should tag your posts.
I think I’m done reblogging. From here on out, it’ll be primarily my stuff. I’m done with the “click Reblog, click Create Post” nonsense.
Tumblr’s strength is in its users’ creativity and original posts (text, media, etc.). That’s what I enjoy most here, and that’s what I’ll be doing more of to bring out the best in this platform.
I’ll also be cutting down on following those who “only reblog” because there are far too many of these blogs and everyone should get out there and create. Any asshole can reblog/curate. But we all need to nurture our creative sides more.

Congrats on your ten billionth post, Tumblr.
My great friend Maria cut off her finger a few years ago. Well, not the whole thing. Here’s the story.
She’s giving away $50 of her insurance money every week for a year, to a friend, to give to a charity of their choice. An incredibly noble cause.
Be sure to follow her. She’s an outstanding person and this project is a great way for us to learn about different charities through her very diverse group of friends.
I can’t wait to give away her money!
New favorite Tumblr.
